I’m a nurse practitioner specializing in Maternal–Fetal Medicine (high-risk pregnancy) and a Certified Lactation Consultant. My career began as a labor & delivery and postpartum RN, and I’ve also practiced as a nurse practitioner in Sexual Medicine and Andrology (male fertility).
Supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and feeding has always been the common thread in my work. I’ve had the privilege of caring for people in some of their most vulnerable and transformative seasons — and that responsibility is something I hold deeply.
But beyond my credentials, I’m also a mom of two. I’ve breastfed both of my children (and I’m still nursing my youngest!). I know firsthand that feeding journeys can be beautiful, exhausting, empowering and confusing — often all at once.
Outside of my clinical work, I love spending time with my family, practicing yoga and being outdoors. I’m a registered yoga teacher (though not currently teaching) and Reiki certified. These practices continue to shape how I think about the body — not just as something to “fix,” but as something to listen to, support and trust.
The name Soma felt right from the beginning.
In Sanskrit, Soma refers to a sacred ritual drink (often called the “nectar of the moon”), symbolizing fluid, flow, and the elixir of life. A fitting metaphor for breast milk.
In ancient Greek, soma simply means “body.” A reminder that your body is not just a vessel — it is powerful, intelligent, and worthy of thoughtful care.
At Soma Lactation & Maternal Care, lactation isn’t treated as just a feeding issue. It’s a whole-body, whole-person experience. And it deserves support that reflects that.
I created Soma because I believe families deserve better postpartum care.
During pregnancy, you’re seen often. After birth — when you’re recovering, adjusting, and learning to feed a tiny human — support can suddenly feel scarce. That gap never sat right with me.
My goal is to offer care that feels steady, continuous, and deeply supportive during this transition.
Yes, we’ll do a thorough lactation evaluation. We’ll assess latch, supply, milk transfer , etc.
But we’ll also talk about how you are sleeping, eating, coping and healing.
Postpartum recovery is physical, emotional, hormonal and relational. Lactation doesn’t exist in isolation from the rest of your life — and neither should your care.
Most feeding challenges don’t need to feel overly medical. They need time, skilled observation, calm guidance and reassurance.
That’s where we start.
And if something more complex comes up? My nurse practitioner training allows me to integrate medical expertise seamlessly — without sending you elsewhere or adding more appointments to your already full plate.
I believe deeply in evidence-based medicine. I also believe in supporting regulation, nervous system balance, and the body’s natural healing capacity.
That means blending clinical knowledge with integrative approaches — always in a way that aligns with your goals and comfort.
This is not checklist care.
Visits are intentionally unhurried. We move at your pace. Some families need hands-on help. Some need education. Some need reassurance. Some just need space to exhale and be heard.
Feeding journeys evolve. So do you.
My role is to meet you where you are — without pressure, without comparison, without judgment.
After each visit, my hope is that you leave feeling:
More grounded
More supported
More confident in your body
More connected to your intuition
More assured in your ability to care for your baby
Because you are already doing so much better than you think.
