I’m a nurse practitioner specializing in Maternal–Fetal Medicine (high-risk pregnancy) and a Certified Lactation Consultant. My career began as a labor & delivery and postpartum RN, and I’ve also practiced as a nurse practitioner in Sexual Medicine and Andrology (male fertility).
Supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and feeding has always been the common thread in my work. I’ve had the privilege of caring for people in some of their most vulnerable and transformative seasons — and that responsibility is something I hold deeply.
Beyond my credentials, I’m also a mom of two. I’ve breastfed both of my children (and still nursing my youngest!). I know firsthand that feeding journeys can be beautiful, exhausting, empowering and confusing — often all at once.
Outside of my clinical work, I love spending time with my family, practicing yoga, and being outdoors. I am also a registered yoga teacher and Reiki certified (a complementary practice focused on relaxation and calming the nervous system). These practices continue to shape how I think about the body — not just as something to “fix,” but as something to listen to, support and trust.
In Sanskrit, Soma refers to a sacred ritual drink—often called the “nectar of the moon”—symbolizing fluidity, flow, and the elixir of life. A fitting metaphor for breast milk.
In ancient Greek, soma simply means “body”—a reminder that your body is not just a vessel, but something powerful, intelligent, and worthy of thoughtful care.
At Soma Lactation & Maternal Care, lactation is not treated as just a feeding issue. It is a whole-body, whole-person experience—and it deserves support that reflects that.
I created Soma because families deserve better postpartum and lactation support.
Throughout pregnancy, care is frequent, with a strong focus on preparing for birth. But delivery is only a brief moment in a much larger journey. In the postpartum period—when everything shifts—many families are left feeling like support has suddenly disappeared.
My goal is to offer care that feels steady, continuous, and deeply supportive during this transition.
Yes, we’ll do a thorough lactation evaluation. But we’ll also talk about how you are sleeping, eating, coping, and healing.
Postpartum recovery is physical, emotional, hormonal, and relational. Lactation doesn’t exist in isolation from the rest of your life—and neither should your care.
Most feeding challenges don’t need to feel overly medical. They need time, skilled observation, calm guidance, and reassurance.
That’s where we begin.
If something more complex arises, my nurse practitioner training allows me to integrate medical expertise seamlessly—without sending you elsewhere or adding more appointments to your already full plate.
I believe deeply in evidence-based medicine. I also value supporting regulation, nervous system balance, and the body’s natural capacity to heal.
This means blending clinical knowledge with integrative approaches—always in a way that aligns with your goals and comfort.
This is not checklist care.
Visits are intentionally unhurried, and we move at your pace. Some families need hands-on support. Some need education. Some need reassurance. Some simply need space to exhale and be heard.
Feeding journeys evolve—and so do you.
My role is to meet you where you are, without pressure, comparison, or judgment.
After each visit, my hope is that you leave feeling:
Grounded and supported
Confident in your body
Connected to your intuition
Assured in your ability to care for your baby
Because you are already doing so much better than you think.
