Do you accept insurance?
Soma Lactation & Maternal Care is a private-pay practice. Detailed superbills will be provided for potential insurance reimbursement.
Many insurance plans are required to cover lactation services, though coverage and reimbursement vary by plan. Reimbursement is not guaranteed. We have included helpful resources under the "Resources" section to support you in navigating the reimbursement process.
Why is a nurse practitioner beneficial for a lactation visit?
Not all lactation support needs to feel medical. But sometimes, medical insight makes all the difference. Most visits focus on gentle, practical support. When medical concerns arise- pain, low supply, feeding challenges, postpartum recovery- you don't need a referral or a second appointment. That expertise is already built in, and I am here to help.
I am interested in breastfeeding, but I am exclusively formula feeding. Can you help?
Yes. We would love to help you explore your options and achieve your feeding goals.
Can you help with combo feeding (breastmilk and formula)?
Absolutely. Whatever your goals are, we will help. And if you need help figuring out what your goals are, we can help with that too.
